Norton Healthcare included on Modern Healthcare’s Best Places to Work in Healthcare

At a banquet last night in Chicago, Norton Healthcare received national recognition as a member of Modern Healthcare’s Best Places to Work in Healthcare for 2009. More than 300 health care organizations nationwide participated in this year’s survey process. Only 100 organizations were included on the list.
The most important determining factor in the ranking is a confidential satisfaction and engagement survey completed by a random sampling of employees. Survey respondents rated their employing organization based on their individual experiences as employees. Leadership and planning, culture and communications, role satisfaction, working environment, relationship with supervisor, training and development, pay and benefits, and overall satisfaction are covered in the survey.
“It is truly gratifying to receive this recognition, because it really came from our employees,” said Stephen A. Williams, president & CEO, Norton Healthcare. “It demonstrates the success of the partnership of Norton Healthcare staff and leadership in creating a great employee experience.”

Norton Healthcare is one of only six health care organizations in Kentucky to be included on the Modern Healthcare list in 2009. It is one of two on the list from Louisville.

This is just the latest in a string of “best places to work” honors Norton Healthcare has received. For four consecutive years – 2006 through 2009 – Norton Healthcare has been named one of the Best Places to Work in Kentucky by the Kentucky Society for Human Resource Management. In addition, Norton Healthcare was honored as Outstanding Employer of the Year by KentuckianaWorks in 2003, 2005 and 2007.

“It is largely due to our employees that Norton Healthcare is the health care employer and provider of choice in Louisville,” Williams said.
