Rally for Recovery at Waterfront Park set for September 22

Celebrate National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month

People Advocating Recovery (PAR), along with other community organizations and supporting business, will present the Rally for Recovery 2012 on Saturday, September 22 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Brown-Forman Amphitheater in Waterfront Park in Louisville, KY.

For several years, the rally has been the region’s largest gathering to celebrate recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. The day will feature stories of people in recovery, entertainment and food. Rally for Recovery 2012 is free and open to the public.

Rally for Recovery 2012 is sponsored by People Advocating Recovery, a statewide group of individuals working to eliminate the barriers to recovery from addiction.

Rally for Recovery 2012 is one of more than ninety events taking place during September in cities across America supported by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration (SAMSHA) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month helps to raise awareness about the effectiveness of treatment by celebrating the millions of Americans in recovery who live healthy and productive lives.
