Thumbs Up for Lane Goodwin Childhood Cancer Foundation incorporates

The family of Lane Goodwin announced today that Thumbs Up for Lane Goodwin Childhood Cancer Foundation, Inc. is now incorporated in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Lane Goodwin, a 13-year old from Beech Grove, KY, has been battling Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma for more than two years. His journey went viral last month when people around the world began posting thumbs up pictures of themselves to show their support for Lane and his family.

The Foundation will focus on funding research to find a cure and raising awareness for childhood cancers. It will also work to develop a volunteer network to help parents advocate on behalf of their children.
“The Thumbs Up For Lane movement has brought awareness worldwide for childhood cancers. We plan to build upon that awareness and move toward finding a cure for these cancers. Today, 46 children will be diagnosed with cancer and seven will die. We have made a commitment to Lane to work towards a day when both of those numbers are zero,” said Angie Goodwin.

The Board of Directors will now focus on establishing the Foundation as a 501c3 through the Internal Revenue Service.
