A collaborative effort between the Foundation, Louisville Public Media and Community Foundation of Louisville has allowed WFPL News, 89.3FM to hire Ja’Nel Johnson as health reporter. Johnson will file regular, in-depth enterprise reports for broadcast and the web.
The Next Louisville: Community Health is a year-long journalism project to inform, engage and inspire conversation about the most pressing issues in Louisville and Kentucky.
Johnson has worked as news director at KVNO News in Omaha, Nebraska, for the last 16 months. There, she reports, edits and manages news programming for the radio station. She also serves as executive producer of “The Omaha News,” a student-produced television program that airs on a local PBS affiliate.
